Studies have also shown that people are most likely to stick to exercise when it is a regular part of their daily lives.

If you are just starting an exercise program, we recommend that you take a look at the American Heart Association's Choose to Move program.

Choose to Move is a fun, free, and flexible physical activity program for women.

It lasts 12 weeks and helps participants gradually increase their physical activity levels to 30 minutes on most days of the week, a level shown to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
